NAPPS OYO STATE DISSOCIATES ITSELF FROM PROPOSED PROTEST RALLY
PRESS RELEASE
NAPPS OYO STATE DISSOCIATES ITSELF FROM PROPOSED PROTEST RALLY
The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Oyo State Chapter, wishes to categorically state that the Association is not part of, and hereby dissociates itself from, the proposed protest against insecurity scheduled to take place in Ibadan on Monday, June 1, 2026.
Consequently, all NAPPS members across Oyo State are strongly advised not to participate in or associate themselves with the protest in any manner.
While NAPPS remains deeply concerned about the security challenges facing our society, particularly the safety and well-being of school children, teachers, and educational institutions, we firmly believe that such sensitive issues should be addressed through constructive engagement, meaningful dialogue, and collaboration with relevant government agencies and security authorities.
The Association notes that the proposed protest appears to be driven more by political considerations than by genuine humanitarian concern. It is also noteworthy that major educational stakeholders and professional bodies were not adequately consulted before the protest was announced.
NAPPS Oyo State remains committed to advocating for the safe return of the abducted children and teachers in Orire Local Government Area and will continue to engage all relevant stakeholders in seeking lasting solutions to the security challenges affecting our schools and communities.
We call on all members, parents, and the general public to remain calm, law-abiding, and supportive of ongoing efforts aimed at securing the release of the victims and restoring peace and security across Oyo State.
Signed
NAPPS Oyo State Chapter
