WORLD TEACHERS’ DAY 2026: MUSIBAU ADESHINA SANUSI CELEBRATES TEACHERS, ADVOCATES BETTER WELFARE AND INCENTIVES

Hon. Musibau Adeshina Sanusi, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, has joined teachers and education stakeholders across Nigeria and around the world in celebrating the 2026 World Teachers’ Day.

In a goodwill message marking the occasion, Sanusi paid tribute to teachers for their invaluable contributions to education, nation-building, character formation, talent development, and the fight against illiteracy.

He described teachers as indispensable agents of knowledge, enlightenment and positive transformation, noting that virtually every profession and sector of society is built, directly or indirectly, on the foundation laid by educators.

According to him, the annual celebration provides an important opportunity to recognise the dedication, patience, sacrifice and commitment of teachers who continue to shape minds, nurture talents, impart knowledge and prepare future generations for leadership and responsible citizenship.

“Teaching is indeed a noble profession. Without the dedication and sacrifices of our teachers, society would be deprived of the knowledge, values and leadership necessary for meaningful development. Teachers are agents of light who illuminate minds and dispel the darkness of ignorance.”

Sanusi, who described himself as a proud product of the teaching profession, used the occasion to advocate improved conditions of service, better remuneration and meaningful incentives for teachers across the country.

He stressed that a motivated and adequately supported teacher would be better positioned to deliver quality education and inspire students to reach their full potential.

“As a product of the teaching profession, I strongly advocate for better welfare, improved working conditions and attractive incentives for our teachers.

“If we desire a stronger educational system and a more prosperous society, we must invest appropriately in those entrusted with shaping the minds and character of our future generations.”

The ADC candidate further emphasised that the contribution of teachers to human development cannot be measured solely by what happens within the classroom, as their influence extends into virtually every sphere of society.

He commended Nigerian teachers for their resilience and unwavering commitment to reducing illiteracy, promoting positive societal values, nurturing responsible citizens and upholding the dignity and ethics of the teaching profession despite the challenges confronting the education sector.

Sanusi also called for sustained investment in education, stressing that improving teachers’ welfare should remain a key component of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s education system and secure a better future for young people.

He felicitated with teachers across Nigeria and the world on the occasion, expressing profound appreciation for their selfless service and enduring contributions to humanity.

“To every teacher who continues to teach, inspire, nurture and sacrifice for the future of our society, we celebrate you today and always.

“Your impact is immeasurable, your service invaluable, and your legacy enduring.”

Hon. Musibau Adeshina Sanusi wished teachers a memorable World Teachers’ Day celebration and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting policies and initiatives that promote quality education and improve the welfare of educators.

Happy World Teachers’ Day 2026!
Signed:
