Oloyede Celebrates Teachers, Promises Renewed Focus on Education, Teachers’ Welfare in Oyo South

“Teachers Are the Greatest Gifts of Nature — Oloyede”

Honourable Oloyede Esther Oluwatimileyin Esq. has felicitated with teachers across Oyo South Senatorial District and Nigeria on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day, describing teachers as one of the most important pillars of society and essential contributors to human development.

In her message commemorating the annual celebration, Oloyede paid tribute to teachers for their dedication, patience and commitment to shaping the minds and future of younger generations.

According to her, teaching is more than an occupation, as teachers play a fundamental role in developing responsible citizens, nurturing talents and transferring knowledge and values from one generation to another.

“Teachers are among the best professionals and one of the most talented gifts of nature. Their contribution to society can never be measured only by their salaries or classrooms. Every doctor, engineer, lawyer, entrepreneur, leader and professional was once guided by a teacher,” she said.

Oloyede emphasised the need for greater attention to the welfare, working conditions and professional development of teachers, particularly within the Oyo South Senatorial District.

She stressed that quality education cannot be achieved without motivated and adequately supported teachers, noting that investment in teachers ultimately represents an investment in the future of the society.

She further declared her commitment to ensuring that teachers in Oyo South receive renewed attention, support and recognition under her watch.

“Oyo South Senatorial District teachers will be back alive under my watch. We must restore dignity to the teaching profession, listen to our teachers and ensure that their contributions are properly recognised,” Oloyede stated.

She noted that teachers deserve an environment where they can effectively perform their duties, access opportunities for capacity building and contribute meaningfully to educational policy and development.

According to her, the progress of Oyo South is closely connected to the quality of education available to its children and youths, making the welfare of teachers an important component of sustainable development.

Oloyede also encouraged teachers not to lose hope in their profession, urging them to continue inspiring their students despite the challenges confronting the education sector.

She commended teachers who continue to serve with dedication in both public and private institutions, describing their daily commitment to educating and mentoring young people as a service to humanity.

As she joined millions around the world in celebrating teachers, Oloyede extended her appreciation to all educators for their sacrifices and contributions.

“On this special occasion of World Teachers’ Day, I celebrate every teacher in Oyo South Senatorial District and beyond. Thank you for teaching, mentoring, inspiring and building the leaders of tomorrow.

“Happy Teachers’ Day to our great teachers. Your work matters, your sacrifices matter, and your impact will continue to live on in generations to come.”
