Ibadan–Ijebu Ode Road: Jubril Dotun Sanusi Applauds Olubadan Ladoja for Mobilising Traditional Rulers for Landmark Project

The Okanlomo Oodua and Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief (Engr.) Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has expressed profound appreciation and commendation to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, for his visionary leadership and timely mobilisation of the traditional institution ahead of the flag-off of the Ibadan–Ijebu Ode Road Dualisation Project.

Chief Sanusi described the Olubadan’s intervention as a demonstration of purposeful traditional leadership and a clear indication that the traditional institution remains a critical pillar of unity, development and progress in Ibadanland.

According to him, the decision of the Olubadan to bring traditional rulers and other stakeholders together in support of a project of such economic and strategic importance reflects the palace’s evolving role in advancing the welfare and prosperity of the people.

He noted that the traditional institution is not only the custodian of Ibadan’s rich history, culture and heritage but also an important partner in promoting initiatives capable of transforming the socio-economic fortunes of the city and its people.

Chief Sanusi further described the Ibadan–Ijebu Ode Road as more than an infrastructure project, stressing that the strategic corridor has the potential to strengthen connectivity between communities, facilitate the movement of people and goods, stimulate commerce and investment, and contribute substantially to the economic development of Oyo State and the wider South-West region.

He therefore commended the Olubadan for recognising the importance of collective traditional leadership and for mobilising the royal institution to support development initiatives whose benefits will extend to present and future generations.

The Okanlomo Oodua expressed optimism that the mobilisation would further strengthen collaboration among the Federal Government, Oyo State Government and the traditional institution of Ibadanland in the pursuit of transformative infrastructure and sustainable economic development.
