The political temperature in Ona-Ara Local Government rose sharply on Tuesday as traders across major markets staged an overwhelming show of support for *Hon. Ismaeel Sodiq Opeyemi ELEGE*, the Action Democratic Party (ADP) candidate for the Oyo State House of Assembly, Ona-Ara Constituency.

From *Tioya Elekuro* to *Olunloyo, Ariyo, Alawaye, Adeyemo, Asolo, Idi Osan, Thy Will, and Amuloko*, market women and men abandoned their stalls to cheer, chant, and pledge their votes for the young grassroots mobilizer. The tour, which cut across other key commercial hubs within Ona-Ara, witnessed mammoth crowds and emotional testimonies from traders who described ELEGE as _“one of us”_ and _“a leader who listens.”_

Addressing the jubilant traders at Amuloko Market, Hon. ELEGE expressed deep gratitude for what he termed _“an overwhelming and humbling show of love.”_  

_“I am truly grateful for this massive support. I do not take it for granted, and I assure you that your trust will translate into quality representation, market-friendly policies, and youth-focused empowerment when elected,”_ ELEGE declared, to resounding applause.

Political observers say Tuesday’s outing signals a major shift in Ona-Ara’s political landscape, with ELEGE’s street credibility and direct engagement strategy winning over a critical voting bloc ahead of the 2027 general elections.
