The representatives also expressed their willingness to participate actively in the democratic process and support candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while stressing the need for meaningful development, economic opportunities and responsive representation.

Speaking during the engagement, Hon. Raheem Adekunle appreciated the community for its warm reception and active participation. He emphasized the importance of grants and cooperative financing in strengthening grassroots communities and creating opportunities for economic advancement.

Adekunle also referenced historical examples of Nigerian leaders who promoted community development, education, agriculture and economic empowerment. He shared his personal experience of benefiting from a cooperative loan during the administration of the late Senator Abiola Ajimobi, describing it as an example of how accessible financing can positively affect ordinary citizens.

Also speaking, Hon. Oluwuyi Adebowale Drogba explained that the purpose of the engagement was to listen directly to community members and identify their most pressing needs.

He said the delegation was undertaking grassroots consultations as part of the political movement supporting Senator Sarafadeen Abiodun Alli, with the aim of understanding community priorities and ensuring that grassroots concerns are properly documented and communicated through appropriate channels.

Hon. Ifeoluwa Oyedeji, in his remarks, assured the gathering that the issues raised would be communicated to the relevant authorities and stakeholders.

He stressed that effective political engagement should be built around listening, consultation, accountability and sustained interaction with the people.

The engagement further highlighted the importance of taking political participation beyond campaign rallies by creating platforms where communities can directly articulate their needs and contribute to conversations on development and governance.
