INDEPENDENCE DAY: KUNLE OLATUNJI (KTJ) FELICITATES NIGERIANS AT 66, EXPRESSES HOPE FOR A BETTER FUTURE

The Oyo State Governorship Candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Hon. Kunle Olatunji KTJ, has felicitated with Nigerians at home and in the diaspora on the occasion of the nation’s 66th Independence Anniversary, expressing confidence in a brighter future anchored on renewed hope, economic recovery and national rebirth.

In his Independence Day message, Olatunji acknowledged the difficult and turbulent periods Nigeria has experienced since gaining independence from British colonial rule, noting that prolonged political and economic challenges have continued to affect the lives, livelihoods and aspirations of millions of citizens.

He, however, stressed that Nigeria remains a nation endowed with abundant natural resources, rich cultural heritage and highly resourceful human capital, adding that the country has the potential to achieve greater development if its resources and human capacity are effectively harnessed.

According to him, recent developments arising from the economic reforms of the present administration are beginning to produce encouraging signs, but he emphasised that more concerted efforts are required to ensure that the gains of such reforms translate into tangible improvements in the living conditions of ordinary Nigerians.

Olatunji called for greater commitment from leaders at all levels, urging them to remain focused on reforms capable of strengthening the economy, creating employment opportunities and improving the welfare of citizens.

He also stressed the importance of empathy and responsiveness in governance, particularly at a time when many Nigerians are experiencing the immediate pressures associated with major economic adjustments.

The ADP governorship candidate appealed to the nation's leadership not to take the resilience and patience of Nigerians for granted, urging the government to accelerate the implementation of its Renewed Hope Agenda in a manner that promotes sustainable economic growth, development and shared prosperity.

“Nigeria can do much better. What is required is focused, visionary and intentional leadership that understands the pains and aspirations of the people and is prepared to take decisive steps towards creating opportunities, strengthening the economy and improving the quality of life of citizens.”

Olatunji further noted that sustainable national development requires purposeful leadership alongside constructive engagement with Nigerians, describing the people as a resilient and resourceful population whose strength, support and faith in the country must be respected and rewarded with effective governance.

He also observed that as Nigeria approaches another general election cycle, the Independence Anniversary provides an opportunity for citizens to reflect on the nation's democratic journey and the type of leadership required to address the country's challenges and advance national development.

He therefore encouraged Nigerians to remain actively engaged in the democratic process and to carefully consider the leadership qualities, programmes and capacity of political candidates and parties as they participate in future elections.

Olatunji congratulated Nigerians across the country and in the diaspora on the 66th Independence Anniversary, while praying for greater unity, peace, prosperity, economic progress and sustainable development for the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Signed:
Hon. Kunle Olatunji KTJ
Governorship Candidate, Action Democratic Party (ADP), Oyo State
