The Diary Room has given us some of the funniest moments in BBNaija history, as those are the moments when housemates usually have one-on-one conversations with Biggie.
From Angel’s iconic bread rant to Neo’s British accent, these clips still have us laughing years later.
1. The clip of Angel still lives rent-free in our heads
Speakingduring her diary session with Big Brother, Angel Smith expressed her frustration over the excessive food consumption by some housemates.
Visibly upset, she said there was no logical explanation for anyone eating nine slices of bread and five eggs at once, questioning if that was how they ate in their homes.
"There is no logical reason why anybody should eat nine slices of bread. Are you a werewolf? Did you not eat in your previous life before? There is no logical reason why you should be eating five eggs. Is that how they eat in their houses? In this economy? Is that how they eat? If they were the ones footing the bills and considering the state of things, would they still eat like that?" she asked.
2. Neo speaking in a British accent deserves a permanent spot in BBNaija history
While Neo was speaking with Big Brother during the 2020 edition, he tried to dish out a British accent while talking about his colleague, Nengi.
Neo uttered: “I like Nengi , she’s a preddy gurl. She’s a preddy girl with good addidude.”
He later cautioned himself by saying, “Which kind phonetics be this.”
3. Diana sending Big Brother to buy salt from the market
During the Big Brother Naija Season 7 ("Level Up") edition in August 2022, housemate Diana Isoken Edobor hilariously asked Big Brother to go to the market and buy salt for the house because they had run out of it.
The exact exchange from the diary room went like this:
Diana: "Big Brother, just one question please... Please, we don't have salt to cook."
Biggie: "And what would you like Big Brother to do?"
Diana: "To help us to go to the market to buy salt please."
Biggie: "Are you sending Big Brother on errands?"
Diana: (Panicking slightly) "No sir, no! But just if you can help us to look for salt."
4. Uriel Oputa clocking Princess "Fake American Accent'
During the Big Brother Naija All Stars 2023 season, Uriel Oputa hilariously called out ("clocked") Princess Onyejekwe during an iconic diary room session for putting on a fake American accent.
The incident became one of the most talked-about and funniest highlights of the season.
What Uriel Said in the Diary Room
On August 2, 2023, Uriel didn't hold back when venting to Biggie about Princess's sudden change in dialect:
The Call-Out: Uriel explicitly stated, "That accent is not real. It is not her own true accent. I know her outside the house."
The Confusion: She questioned the sudden origin of the accent, stating, "Since we came inside this house, this girl has been putting on this American accent. Where did the American accent come from?"
The Exhaustion: Uriel humorously added that it was physically draining to listen to, complaining, "Sometimes, when she speaks I don't understand what she says. It is too much for my ears."
The Offence: Uriel noted that when she casually questioned Princess about the accent directly, Princess took deep offence.
5. Frodd warning his mechanic is one we will never forget
That unforgettable Big Brother Naija moment occurred during the 2023 All Stars season. While in the diary room with Biggie, Frodd was originally delivering an emotional message about how much he missed his heavily pregnant wife, Chioma.
However, mid-sentiment, reality set in, and he hilariously pivoted to address his car. He stated: "but I want to warn my mechanic, there's a car that he's suppose to take to her..." before Biggie abruptly cut him off by saying, "Frodd, your diary session has come to an end."
The moment immediately went viral, cementing itself as one of the funniest diary room highlights of all time. It even prompted show host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu to tweet: "How can Frodd be warning his mechanic on international TV?" Fans widely joked that Nigerian mechanics will make you forget you are even inside Biggie's house.
6. Kiddwaya's reaction after the housemates played him? Absolutely priceless
The moment captures Kiddwaya venting to Biggie after realizing his elaborate strategic alliance completely fell apart during voting. His hilariously defeated and brutally honest quote in the Diary Room became an instant meme
"I was played. I was so sure I had it in the bag. I was convinced it was a done deal. I had eight people that said 'Kiddwaya you have my votes.' I was politicizing Big Brother."
7. Rooboy asking Big Brother to change the alarm sound
During a hilarious diary session in Big Brother Naija Season 10, housemate Rooboy explicitly complained to Big Brother (Biggie) about the house's harsh morning alarm. He claimed the jarring sound was so intense it almost gave him a seizure or made him want to run away, preventing him from sleeping properly.
To fix the issue, he hilariously suggested that Biggie change the early morning alarm to the iconic Christmas song "Silent Night, Holy Night" so the housemates could wake up feeling happy and relaxed. This interaction became a massive hit with fans and is widely ranked among the funniest BBNaija Diary Room moments of all time.
8. Kuture comparing the BBNaija house to the Garden of Eden still gets us
That iconic line comes from Big Brother Naija Season 10 (2025) housemate Kuture (Unekwuojo Godswill Ameh), whose hilariously dramatic Diary Room session earned a permanent spot on our compilation of the "Funniest BBNaija Diary Room Moments of All Time."
During his diary session, Kuture explicitly compared Biggie's house to the biblical Garden of Eden, stating that he didn't want any "serpent" to slide in and make him eat from the forbidden tree because he simply wanted zero drama (wahala).
