IBADAN, OYO STATE / DIASPORA —
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Diaspora Network, under the leadership of Hon. Daniel Akeni, extends its heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Gbemileke Alagbe, popularly known as “Eleniyan,” following the official confirmation and publication of his candidature on the portal of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the ADC’s gubernatorial candidate for the forthcoming Oyo State Governorship Election.
The confirmation marks a significant milestone for the ADC and its growing family of supporters across Oyo State and beyond. It has also generated excitement among members of the ADC Diaspora Network, who view the development as a strong step forward in the party’s collective journey toward providing purposeful, people-oriented leadership for Oyo State.
Speaking on behalf of ADC members and supporters across the diaspora, Hon. Daniel Akeni, Chairman of the ADC Diaspora Network, expressed his profound appreciation and optimism over the development.
According to the Chairman:
“Democratic contests within a political party are processes through which the party produces its candidate. Once that process has been concluded and our candidate has been officially confirmed by INEC, there is no room for division. The time has come for every aspirant and supporter to sheath their swords, reconcile as one family, and join hands with Hon. Gbemileke Alagbe ‘Eleniyan’.”
He added that the strength of the ADC going into the election would depend largely on its ability to transform its internal diversity into unity of purpose, discipline, strategic mobilisation, and a shared commitment to the people of Oyo State.
The ADC Diaspora Network believes that victory will not be achieved by one individual or one group alone, but through the collective efforts of party leaders, aspirants, grassroots members, professionals, youths, women, supporters, and Nigerians in the diaspora.
The Network consequently urges all members to embrace reconciliation and redirect their energy toward the broader objective of building a stronger ADC and presenting a credible alternative to the people of Oyo State.
DIASPORA NETWORK REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT
The ADC Diaspora Network also reaffirms its unwavering commitment to the success of the party and its gubernatorial candidate.
The Network will continue to contribute its strategic, intellectual, financial, media, mobilisation, and moral support toward the campaign and the party’s broader democratic objectives.
The Network remains convinced that a united ADC can build a formidable political movement capable of engaging citizens at home and abroad and advancing a new agenda for good governance, accountability, economic opportunity, inclusive development, and people-centred leadership in Oyo State.
As the journey toward the 2027 election intensifies, the ADC Diaspora Network calls on every member of the party to rise above personal differences and embrace the spirit of collective responsibility.
The primary is over. The candidate has been confirmed. The mission now is victory.
Together, let us unite behind Hon. Gbemileke Alagbe “Eleniyan” and work toward an ADC victory that will usher in a new chapter of hope, progress, and responsible leadership in Oyo State.
Signed:
Hon. Daniel Akeni
