2027:OYERE DEEPENS GRASSROOTS MOBILISATION IN APATA, RALLIES SUPPORT FOR TINUBU, BSA, REMI OSENI AND APC CANDIDATES

The grassroots mobilisation structure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State received another boost on Tuesday as prominent grassroots mobiliser, Alhaji Olaniyi Jelili Oyere, led his team to Apata in Ibadan South West Local Government Area for an extensive engagement with market women, transport workers, party leaders and community stakeholders.

The visit formed part of Oyere’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the APC’s presence at the grassroots, deepen political participation and build stronger relationships between the party and residents across communities in Oyo State.

Oyere, accompanied by Hammed Omilemi, Alhaji Abideen Apanpa, Alhaji Agoro, Kamo Tokyo and Alhaji Taye Iyamu, engaged directly with members of the trading and transport communities, listening to their views, exchanging ideas and encouraging greater participation in the political process.

The mobilisation also focused on galvanising grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli (BSA), Hon. Remi Oseni and other APC candidates, while emphasising the importance of unity, loyalty, effective organisation and sustained engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.

STRENGTHENING THE GRASSROOTS

The Apata engagement reflects a broader strategy of taking political mobilisation beyond conventional party meetings and directly into communities where residents live, work and conduct their daily activities.

For Oyere and his team, grassroots politics requires constant engagement with the people. Market women, transport workers, artisans, community leaders, youth groups and other local stakeholders remain critical components of any successful political structure.

The interaction therefore provided an avenue to further strengthen existing relationships, identify areas of collaboration and encourage stakeholders to remain actively involved in the political process.

The visit attracted several prominent APC leaders and community stakeholders, demonstrating the growing importance attached to grassroots mobilisation and inclusive engagement.

Among those who received Oyere and his entourage were Olakunle Ogunfemi, Ward 12 Chairman, Ibadan South West Local Government; Akeem Akinpelu, NURTW Leader, Ibadan South West Local Government 2; Baba Sidi, NURTW Leader; and Hon. Sunday Babalola, Welfare Secretary, Oyo State APC.
Also present were Hon. Taiwo Okunola Ado, representing Ibadan South West Constituency 2 in the Oyo State House of Assembly; Prince Niyi Oshokoya, Ward 12 Chairman, Council of Leaders; and Pa S.A. Salisu, Ward 12 Leader.

BUILDING A UNITED POLITICAL STRUCTURE

The engagement also served as a platform to promote unity among party members and supporters while encouraging stakeholders to work collectively towards strengthening the APC at the ward, local government and state levels.

Oyere’s mobilisation efforts are increasingly centred on building a network that connects political leaders with ordinary citizens and ensures that grassroots stakeholders are carried along in the political process.

The Apata meeting reinforced the message that political mobilisation must be continuous and people-oriented, rather than limited to the periods immediately preceding elections.

Through regular community engagements, Oyere and his team are seeking to establish stronger channels of communication, foster collaboration and create a more coordinated grassroots structure capable of supporting the APC and its candidates.

APATA AS ANOTHER STEP IN THE MOBILISATION JOURNEY

The Apata visit represents another step in Oyere’s ongoing grassroots mobilisation campaign across Oyo State.

His approach is built around direct engagement, consultation, relationship-building and mobilisation, with the objective of creating a wider political network that cuts across communities and different sectors of society.

By taking the mobilisation directly to market places, transport hubs and community spaces, the initiative seeks to ensure that grassroots voices remain an important part of political conversations.

The renewed interaction in Apata ended with expressions of unity and commitment from stakeholders, as participants reaffirmed the importance of working together towards a stronger and more coordinated APC grassroots structure.

As political activities continue to gather momentum ahead of the 2027 elections, Oyere’s mobilisation drive is expected to extend to more communities across Oyo State.
From Apata to communities across Oyo State, the message remains clear: BUILD THE GRASSROOTS, STRENGTHEN UNITY, MOBILISE THE PEOPLE AND SUPPORT THE APC.
