RESPECT THE PEOPLE'S MANDATE: CERTIFICATE OF RETURN MUST BE ISSUED TO ALAGBE GBEMILEKE
“DEMOCRACY MUST NOT BE OVERTURNED: ISSUE THE CERTIFICATE OF RETURN TO ALAGBE GBEMILEKE NOW.”
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
RESPECT THE WILL OF ADC MEMBERS IN OYO STATE
The Alagbe Gbemileke Campaign Media Directorate expresses deep concern over the continued delay in issuing the Certificate of Return to Alagbe Gbemileke, the duly elected gubernatorial candidate who emerged through the recognized democratic process of the Oyo State ADC governorship primaries.
The foundation of every democratic institution is respect for the will of the people.
Party members, delegates, and stakeholders participated in a process designed to produce a legitimate candidate through fair competition and democratic choice.
Alagbe Gbemileke won fair
Any attempt to disregard, overturn, or undermine that outcome threatens not only the integrity of the primary election but also the confidence of faithful across Oyo State.
We call on the National Working Committee of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to uphold justice, fairness, and the principles upon which the party is built. The mandate freely given by delegates must be respected and protected.
Alagbe Gbemileke’s emergence was not the product of imposition, manipulation, or backroom arrangements. It was the result of a democratic exercise in which party members made their choice. That choice deserves recognition and validation through the immediate issuance of the Certificate of Return to the rightful winner.
We urge the leadership of our great party to act in the interest of unity, credibility, and internal democracy. History will remember whether the voices of party members were respected or ignored.
Our campaign remains committed to peace, lawful engagement, and the democratic ideals that define our party. However, we stand firm in defending the mandate freely given by the delegates of Oyo State ADC.
The will of the people must prevail.
Signed,
Media Directorate,
Alagbe Gbemileke Eleniyan Campaign Organization
