OYO APC APPLAUDS JUBRIL DOTUN SANUSI FOR TINUBU, ALLI MOBILISATION, SEEKS UNITY AHEAD OF 2027

“Let’s Not Destroy the Family With Disunity,” Sanusi Urges APC Leaders

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, led by its Chairman and former Deputy Governor, Pa. Moses Adeyemo Alake, has paid an appreciation visit to the Okanlomo Oodua and Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, commending his support, generosity and grassroots mobilisation efforts towards the successful inauguration of the Tinubu Torch Bearers (TTB) in Ibadan.

The visit, held on Thursday, was also an opportunity for the Oyo State APC leadership and representatives of the TTB organising committee to formally acknowledge Chief Sanusi’s contribution to the mobilisation of political stakeholders and grassroots supporters in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, the APC and its candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on behalf of the Oyo State Matron of the Tinubu Torch Bearers, Ambassador Florence Ajimobi, the Oyo State APC Women Leader, Dr. Felicia Opatunde, alongside members of the organising committee, praised Chief Sanusi for the significant role he played in mobilising supporters for the historic inauguration.

They described his intervention as a major boost to the party’s mobilisation efforts, noting that his ability to galvanise grassroots stakeholders and political groups contributed substantially to the impressive turnout recorded at the event.

The committee also commended his commitment to the political advancement of the APC in Oyo State and the wider Southwest, stressing that sustained grassroots engagement would be critical to the party’s success in the 2027 elections.

Alake Commends Sanusi’s Political Contributions

Speaking during the visit, Pa. Moses Adeyemo Alake praised Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi for his contributions to the growth and development of the APC, particularly through grassroots mobilisation and stakeholder engagement.

The APC Chairman described Sanusi as a strategic stakeholder whose commitment to strengthening the party’s political structure deserved recognition.

He said the visit was a demonstration of the party leadership’s appreciation for the continued support and contributions of the Okanlomo Oodua to APC activities and its mobilisation efforts.

Sanusi: APC Must Choose Unity Over Division
Responding, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi thanked the APC leadership for the visit and congratulated the Oyo State chapter on the successful inauguration of the Tinubu Torch Bearers.

He described the inauguration as historic, saying the scale of mobilisation demonstrated the organisational capacity, preparedness and grassroots strength of the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.

Sanusi expressed optimism that the momentum generated by the event would translate into electoral success for the party, particularly in the bid to secure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and reclaim Oyo State for the APC through the candidature of Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli.

The Okanlomo Oodua, however, emphasised that achieving the party’s political objectives would require more than mobilisation.

According to him, unity, love, mutual respect, tolerance, inclusiveness and reconciliation must remain at the heart of the APC’s strategy.

He specifically appealed to Pa. Moses Alake and other party leaders to reach out to members who may feel aggrieved and deliberately pursue reconciliation ahead of the 2027 elections.

“Let’s not destroy the family with disunity,” Sanusi cautioned.

He urged the different tendencies within the party to set aside personal differences and place the collective interest of the APC above individual ambitions.

According to him, the unity and grassroots cooperation witnessed during the Tinubu Torch Bearers inauguration should be sustained and transformed into a broader political structure capable of delivering victory at the polls.

Sanusi further encouraged the APC leadership to embrace dialogue, tolerance and reconciliation, stressing that no personal disagreement should be allowed to undermine the party’s collective aspirations.

APC Promises to Consider Sanusi’s Counsel
In his vote of thanks, the Oyo State APC Secretary, Barrister Fatai Adesina, appreciated Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi for his generosity, support and valuable counsel to the party leadership.

He assured the Okanlomo Oodua that the party would carefully consider his advice and continue engaging relevant stakeholders towards strengthening the party’s internal cohesion and political structure.

Barrister Adesina added that the APC remained grateful for Sanusi’s contributions and would continue to recognise the efforts of individuals and grassroots stakeholders committed to the growth and success of the party in Oyo State.

Members of the delegation included the State Deputy Chairman, Dr. Taofeek Lamidi;

Senatorial Chairman (North), Hon. Tunde Oloyede; Senatorial Chairman (South), Hon. Adebayo Delesolu; Treasurer, Alhaji Lateef Ajiboye; Assistant Secretary, Hon. Owonikoko Lukman; Deputy Women Leader, Fatima Titilayo Hassan; Deputy Youth Leader, Comrade Sayo Fatoki, alongside other party executives and stakeholders.

The visit underscores the increasing emphasis being placed by the Oyo State APC on grassroots mobilisation, stakeholder engagement, internal reconciliation and unity as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections.
