Oyo 2027: BSA Support Groups Unite in Ona-Ara, Rally Support for APC Candidates

Members of various support groups loyal to Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli (BSA) on Tuesday converged in Ona-Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State for a unity meeting aimed at strengthening the All Progressives Congress (APC) and mobilising support for the party’s candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The meeting, organised and coordinated by leaders of the BSA Group in Ona-Ara Local Government, Engr. Ifeoluwapo Oyedeji, Comrade Morenikeji Tunde and Hon. Oyinda Adebimpe brought together representatives of several support groups across the local government.

Among the groups represented were BSA Asejere, BSA Vanguard, IROD Group Ona-Ara, Alhaji Oyere for BSA, Iru Ekun for BSA, JDS Group, Hon. Kunle Jenrade Group, BSA Youth Vanguard Ona-Ara, ROCOF Group Ona-Ara, AKA Vanguard, All APC Women Vanguard, BSA Ambassadors and Funmi Obisesan Vanguard.

Speaking on behalf of the APC gubernatorial candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, the Chairman of the BSA Group in Ona-Ara, Hon. Lukman Adepoju, said the group was established to complement the existing APC structures and promote the growth and success of the party.

He said the ultimate objective was to secure victory for all APC candidates at the 2027 polls, urging members to remain committed to the collective interest of the party.

In her remarks, Mama Oyinda Adebimpe also called for unity among party members and urged supporters to mobilise behind the APC candidates, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Yunus Akintunde, Hon. Akin Alabi, Senator Sharafadeen Alli and Hon. Funmilayo Obisesan.

She emphasised that victory at the polls would require collective effort, discipline and commitment from all members.

Former Ona-Ara Local Government Chairman, Hon. Buliaminu Aderemi Ogundele (BAO), while speaking at the gathering, reaffirmed Senator Sharafadeen Alli as the APC gubernatorial candidate and highlighted his extensive political and public service experience.

Ogundele described Alli as a politician with a strong record of leadership, recalling his service as Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government in 1991, Secretary to the Oyo State Government and Chief of Staff under the administration of former Governor Rashidi Ladoja, Chairman of Oodua Investment Company Limited and his current representation of Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

“Nobody comes close to his credentials. He is the most worthy and with immense capacity to become the next Governor of Oyo State,” Ogundele said.

He urged APC members to embrace genuine reconciliation and work collectively for victory, while cautioning against activities capable of undermining the party’s interest.

Ogundele maintained that the group remained committed to the APC candidates and listed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, Senator Yunus Akintunde, Hon. Akin Alabi and Hon. Funmilayo Obisesan among those the members would work to support.

Also speaking, Hon. Bayo Ogunsola called for sincerity and commitment in party service. He described Senator Alli as an experienced leader capable of taking Oyo State to greater heights.

Ogunsola also expressed concern over the condition of some inner roads in Ona-Ara, stressing that the local government and the state required effective leadership capable of addressing infrastructural challenges.
