Oyo 2027: Boye Nation Ido LG Moves to APM, Sets October 7 for Decamping
Boye Nation in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State is set to formally join the Allied People’s Movement (APM) in a political decamping ceremony scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, 2026.
The event, according to the organisers, will take place at IITA, Ido Local Government Area, with proceedings expected to commence at 12:00 noon.
The planned ceremony is expected to provide an opportunity for members and supporters of Boye Nation in Ido Local Government to publicly declare their movement into the APM and formally identify with the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The development comes at a period of increasing political activity across Oyo State, as political parties, aspirants, support groups and grassroots organisations intensify mobilisation and engagement ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.
Boye Nation to Make Formal Political Declaration.
The October 7 gathering is expected to serve as the formal platform for the group’s transition into the APM.
Decamping ceremonies are traditionally used by political groups and supporters to publicly announce changes in their political affiliation and demonstrate their support for a new political platform. In this case, the event will mark Boye Nation’s announced movement into the APM in Ido Local Government.
The organisers have extended invitations to members of the group, political stakeholders, community leaders, supporters and other interested residents to attend the ceremony.
Grassroots Political Activities Intensify
The planned event also highlights the growing importance of grassroots mobilisation as political parties position themselves for the 2027 elections.
Ido Local Government, like other local government areas in Oyo State, is expected to witness increased political engagements, meetings, declarations and realignments as the election season approaches.
For the APM, the entry of a political support group such as Boye Nation could provide an additional platform for engagement with voters and community stakeholders in the local government. However, the actual political impact of the development will depend on subsequent mobilisation, party activities and the participation of members and supporters.
Stakeholders Expected at Event
Although the organisers' announcement did not provide a complete list of expected dignitaries, the ceremony is expected to attract members of Boye Nation, APM supporters and other political stakeholders from Ido Local Government and surrounding communities.
The event is scheduled to begin at 12 noon, with the IITA premises in Ido Local
Government Area serving as the venue.
As preparations continue, attention is expected to focus on the personalities behind the movement, the number of members participating in the decamping and the political messages that will emerge from the gathering.
