The Barrister Sharafadeen Alli (BSA) political support group in Ona-Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State has declared that the people of the council are poised to deliver massive and unprecedented votes for Senator (Barr.) Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli in the 2027 general elections.
The declaration was contained in a statement issued by the Ona-Ara Coordinator of the BSA support group, Hon. Oyedeji Ifeoluwa, and co-signed by Hon. Babatunde Morenikeji.
The group described the people of Ona-Ara as politically sophisticated, intellectually grounded and socially conscious citizens who, according to the statement, are determined to support a candidate they believe can deliver meaningful development and genuine dividends of democracy.
Expressing concern over what it described as the infrastructure deficit across the local government, the group accused the current administration in Oyo State of neglecting grassroots development.
“We have seen what the current administration in Oyo State can do. The road from Ariyo to Odeyale has been completely abandoned, and that stands as practically the only project this administration has shown to Ona-Ara for the past eight years.
“Even the Olorunsogo-Ariyo road they claim to have completed is already suffering structural damage in several parts,” Hon. Ifeoluwa stated.
He further expressed confidence in the political choices of the people of Ona-Ara, declaring that the council would deliver overwhelming support for Senator Sharafadeen Alli in 2027.
“We trust our people in Ona-Ara. In 2027, we will vote massively for Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli to bring an end to developmental stagnation,” he added.
BSA Group Backs Call for Change
The BSA support group also commended recent remarks attributed to the Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, concerning the performance of the present administration in Oyo State.
According to Hon. Ifeoluwa, Chief Sanusi's position reflects concerns that, in the group's view, deserve serious consideration ahead of the 2027 elections.
“The Gbonka Olubadan knows far more than what some of us might not see, and he has taken a bold, patriotic step by rejecting the continuity of a government characterized by dictatorship,” Hon. Ifeoluwa said.
Alli's Experience, Qualification for Leadership — Group
Highlighting Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli's record in public service, the group said his experience across local, state, regional and federal institutions has prepared him for the responsibility of leading Oyo State.
The statement recalled his service as Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, where the group said he contributed to grassroots administration; Secretary to the Oyo State Government (SSG), where he gained extensive administrative experience; Chairman of Odu'a Investment Company Limited, where he was involved in the management of the regional investment organisation; and currently as Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria representing Oyo South Senatorial District.
The group maintained that his experience in governance, administration, economic management and legislative representation makes him, in its assessment, well-positioned to provide purposeful leadership for Oyo State.
The Ona-Ara BSA group therefore called on sons and daughters of the local government to unite, mobilise and support Senator (Barr.) Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli in the 2027 elections.
It expressed optimism that his emergence would usher in what it described as genuine, equitable and people-oriented development across Oyo State.
