ONA-ARA: BSA GRASSROOTS CANVASSER MOVEMENT EXPANDS COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT, MOBILISES SUPPORT FOR BSA
The BSA Grassroots Canvasser Movement has continued its community-level engagement across Ona-Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State, as the group held a productive meeting with the Alhaja Halimot Arike Mogaji Foundation.
The engagement, led by Hon. Oyedeji Ifeoluwa, brought together representatives from six communities, including Bioku Aladun, Ori Apata, Inu Ege, Jagun and Isokan, among others.
Speaking at the meeting, Comr. Shitu Azeez emphasised the importance of sustained grassroots mobilisation, particularly through door-to-door engagement. He urged members to take active participation in community and political activities seriously.
According to him, political participation and community mobilisation should not be left exclusively to politicians, stressing that citizens also have a role to play in shaping the development and future of their communities.
Also speaking, Hon. Drogba expressed satisfaction with the turnout of community representatives, describing the meeting as an important step towards expanding the movement's engagement beyond Bioku and reaching more communities across Ona-Ara.
He spoke on issues relating to national and state development, emphasising the importance of cooperation between the Federal and State Governments, as well as effective local government administration.
Hon. Drogba also encouraged residents to understand the implications of the removal of fuel subsidy and the importance of ensuring that resources allocated for development are properly utilised.
He further highlighted Federal Government projects and infrastructural initiatives, including the airport project, while urging residents to support Senator Sarafadeen Abiodun Alli (BSA) in his political aspiration to become Governor of Oyo State.
In his remarks, Hon. Keji urged members to remain committed to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the BSA political mandate.
Reflecting on past political developments, he stressed that leadership should be about creating opportunities and improving the lives of the people, rather than expecting citizens to carry leaders towards their personal aspirations.
Hon. Keji also referenced the legacy of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, particularly his contribution to free education, while highlighting Federal Government intervention programmes designed to support students and other citizens, including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
The meeting concluded with renewed calls for unity, grassroots participation, community mobilisation and continued engagement among residents and community stakeholders.
The Chairman of the Halimot Mogaji Foundation, Hon. Ademola, acknowledged and appreciated the visit led by Hon. Oyedeji Ifeoluwa. He commended the gesture and the support extended by the Community Canvasser Crew, while appreciating all representatives and participants for their contributions towards the success of the engagement.
The organisers described the meeting as part of their continuing efforts to strengthen community-level engagement and interaction across Ona-Ara Local Government.
