NIGERIA 2027: ADC Diaspora Deputy Coordinator, Hon. Daniel Akeni, Urges Nigerians to Reject Hardship, Declares Atiku the Path to Economic Recovery

— The Deputy Coordinator of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Diaspora, Hon. Daniel Akeni, has called on Nigerians to vote out the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, saying it is the only way to end the country's prolonged economic hardship and poor governance.

Speaking during a recent interview on Infinity Channels TV, Hon. Akeni said the policies of the APC-led administration have subjected millions of Nigerians to unprecedented economic difficulties, resulting in rising poverty, inflation, and declining living standards. He argued that the nation now needs experienced leadership capable of restoring economic stability and national confidence.

"If Nigerians are truly tired of the unrelenting hardship and failing governance under the APC, they must look to the ballot box in 2027. We must collectively choose a path of proven stability, economic growth, and dignity," Hon. Akeni stated.

Hon. Akeni urged Nigerians to reflect on the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, during which former Vice President Atiku Abubakar served, describing that period as one marked by economic reforms, growth, and improved living standards.

According to him, Nigeria enjoyed greater economic stability, stronger purchasing power, and broader democratic dividends during that era. He maintained that Atiku's executive experience and understanding of economic management make him well-positioned to lead the country's recovery.

Concerns Over Nigeria's Global Image

During the interview, Hon. Akeni also expressed concern over Nigeria's declining international reputation, stating that poor governance has weakened the country's standing across the world.

He pointed to the recurring incidents of xenophobic attacks and the mistreatment of Nigerians in South Africa as evidence that the country's diminished economic strength and leadership challenges have affected how Nigerians are perceived abroad. He stressed the need for leadership capable of restoring national pride and protecting the interests of citizens both at home and overseas.

A Call for Decisive Change

Hon. Akeni appealed to Nigerians, including those in the diaspora, to remember the country's present economic challenges when casting their votes in 2027.

He said electing Atiku Abubakar would represent a decisive step toward rebuilding Nigeria's economy, restoring investor confidence, improving the welfare of citizens, and reclaiming the nation's position as the true Giant of Africa.
