HON. SALAUDEEN KABIRU ADEBAYO (SKA): CHAMPIONING YOUTH EMPOWERMENT, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND GRASSROOTS PROGRESS
Hon. Salaudeen Kabiru Adebayo, popularly known as SKA, has continued to attract attention in Saki West through a series of community-focused initiatives centred on youth development, student support, agricultural empowerment and grassroots engagement.
Adebayo’s growing public profile has been linked to interventions aimed at addressing some of the socioeconomic challenges confronting residents, particularly young people, students and farmers across the local government.
One of the documented areas of his intervention is agriculture. In August 2026, reports indicated that Adebayo empowered more than 400 farmers in Saki West, distributing farm inputs and modern agricultural tools as part of what was described as the eighth edition of his agricultural empowerment programme. The initiative was presented as an effort to support farmers during the farming season, improve productivity and contribute to food security.
Beyond agriculture, Adebayo has also been associated with efforts to expand opportunities for young people through technology and digital skills. Earlier in 2026, he was reported to have partnered with Junction Community toward establishing a technology academy in Saki West. The proposed facility was designed to provide training in areas including coding, UI/UX design, data analysis and technology-driven entrepreneurship.
The proposed technology initiative reflects a growing emphasis on equipping young people with skills relevant to the digital economy, while creating opportunities for entrepreneurship and employment within the community.
Adebayo's activities have also extended into political and stakeholder engagement as the 2027 general elections approach.
On September 25, 2026, he was among the political stakeholders in Saki West who received the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) governorship candidate, Bimbo Adekanmbi, during a grassroots consultation in Saki. The engagement brought together stakeholders from different sectors, including Muslim clerics, traders and members of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Saki West.
The consultations provided an opportunity for community stakeholders to present concerns and developmental expectations ahead of the 2027 political cycle.
Supporters of Adebayo describe his approach as one centred on accessibility, community participation and practical interventions. They point to his reported support for farmers, students and young people as examples of an approach that seeks to connect political leadership with everyday community needs.
His public activities have increasingly placed him within conversations around representation and grassroots development in Saki West, particularly as political parties and aspirants begin preparations for the 2027 elections.
While political campaigns naturally generate competing claims about records and achievements, the initiatives publicly attributed to Adebayo—including agricultural empowerment and the proposed technology academy—provide concrete areas through which his supporters are presenting his record of community engagement.
For supporters of Hon. Salaudeen Kabiru Adebayo, the narrative surrounding SKA extends beyond electoral politics. They portray his activities as part of a broader commitment to supporting people, developing human capacity and creating opportunities at the grassroots.
With agriculture, youth development, technology and stakeholder engagement featuring prominently in his recent activities, attention is increasingly focused on how such initiatives may shape the development conversation in Saki West ahead of the 2027 political season.
