ADP Assembly Candidate Meets St’John Polling Unit Stakeholders in Idi-Osa, Gets Backing of Community Leader ‘Iya Fighter’

The political momentum of *Honourable Ismaeel Sodiq Opeyemi ELEGE*, the Action Democratic Party (ADP) candidate for the Oyo State House of Assembly, Ona-Ara Constituency, gathered further steam on Thursday as he held a strategic consultation with residents of *Ifelagba Community, Idi-Osa, St’John Polling Unit*.
The meeting, which drew community elders, youth leaders, and women stakeholders, was hosted under the leadership of respected grassroots mobilizer, *Iya Fighter*, whose influence across the St’John polling unit remains formidable.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. ELEGE described the visit as _“a homecoming and a covenant”_ with the people of Ifelagba, stressing that his aspiration is rooted in direct engagement and accountability.
_“I am not here to campaign with empty promises. I am here to listen, to document your pains, and to commit to legislative actions that reflect your daily realities. Ifelagba will not be forgotten when decisions are made in the House,”_ ELEGE assured, to chants of approval.
In her remarks, Iya Fighter lauded ELEGE’s humility and track record of community interventions, declaring the St’John polling unit’s readiness to _“stand with a son who has shown he cares before asking for votes.”_ She urged residents to close ranks behind the ADP candidate, describing him as _“accessible, tested, and people-driven.”_
Political watchers note that Thursday’s outreach is part of ELEGE’s ward-to-ward consultation strategy aimed at consolidating grassroots support ahead of the 2027 general elections. The Ifelagba meeting, held in the heart of Idi-Osa, signals the ADP candidate’s intent to secure key voting blocs often overlooked in mainstream politicking.
Community members raised issues ranging from road infrastructure to youth unemployment, with Hon. ELEGE pledging to prioritize _“motions and constituency projects that speak to survival, not just politics.”_
The consultation ended with prayers and a renewed pledge of support from stakeholders, further boosting ELEGE’s profile as a leading contender for the Ona-Ara Assembly seat.
