CALL FOR TRANSPARENCY ON THE REPORTED TRUMP–TINUBU LETTER
The recent publication of a letter reportedly sent by U.S. President Donald J. Trump to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has generated widespread public interest and debate.
As responsible political stakeholders, we believe that matters of international diplomacy deserve clarity, transparency, and accountability.
Nigerians have a right to accurate information from their government.
While the Presidency has released what it describes as a letter from President Trump, questions have been raised in the public domain regarding the timing, authenticity, and context of the correspondence.
These questions should be addressed with facts rather than speculation.
We therefore call on the appropriate authorities to provide any clarification necessary to strengthen public confidence and dispel unnecessary controversy.
Nigeria's democratic process is best served when official communications are transparent and verifiable.
Public trust is built not only through statements but also through openness and accountability.
As leaders, our responsibility is to encourage truth, responsible public discourse, and respect for the institutions that represent our nation.
