Also Quits APM

Beyond his resignation from the Speaker’s office, Rasheed has also announced his departure from the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), a political platform where he had been actively involved.

The development marks a significant change in his current political engagement in Oyo State, particularly given his visibility and activities within political circles.

However, Rasheed did not provide further details on his reasons for leaving the party, leaving his next political direction open to speculation.

A New Chapter

Rasheed’s simultaneous exit from the Speaker’s office and the APM marks the beginning of a new chapter in his public and political journey.

For now, his stated reason for leaving the position of Special Adviser remains his health, following what he described as due and comprehensive consultation.

His resignation officially took effect on August 19, 2026.

As political activities continue to gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, attention is expected to focus on Rasheed’s next move and whether his departure from the APM will lead to a new political alignment or a period of withdrawal from active political engagement.
