BREAKING: CAF Confirms Date for 2026/27 Interclub Competition Draws
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially announced that the preliminary-round draws for the 2026/27 CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, in Cairo, Egypt.
The highly anticipated draw will determine the opening fixtures for clubs across Africa as they begin their journey toward continental glory in the new football season.
CAF has also retained its lucrative prize structure for the competitions. The winners of the CAF Champions League will receive a grand prize of $6 million, while the CAF Confederation Cup champions will pocket $4 million, further boosting the competitiveness of Africa's premier club tournaments.
In a continued effort to support football development across the continent, CAF confirmed that clubs eliminated during the preliminary rounds will each receive $100,000 in solidarity funding. The initiative is designed to help ease the financial burden on participating teams and encourage broader participation in continental competitions.
The draw is expected to attract significant attention from clubs, fans, and football stakeholders across Africa as the race for continental supremacy officially gets underway.
