AKANRAN ROARS: EGEDE COMMUNITY THROWS WEIGHT BEHIND TINUBU, ALLI AHEAD OF 2027

Political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections have continued to gather momentum in Akanran, as members of the Egede Community paid a courtesy visit to the Okanlomo Oodua and Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief (Engr.) Jubril Dotun Sanusi (JDS).

The community delegation, led by Hon. Gabriel Egena, used the occasion to publicly declare their support for the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and express their backing for Senator Sharafadeen Alli in his gubernatorial ambition in Oyo State.

The engagement brought together community members and grassroots stakeholders for meaningful discussions on political participation, community development, grassroots mobilisation and the future direction of Oyo State.

Speaking during the visit, representatives of the Egede Community explained that their decision to align with the Tinubu–Alli political agenda was influenced by their desire for continuity at the federal level, effective representation and leadership that can respond to the aspirations of communities across Oyo State.

They stressed the importance of grassroots participation in determining the political future of the state, noting that communities must play an active role in shaping leadership and governance.

The impressive turnout from the Egede Community further underscored the growing political awareness and mobilisation taking place across Akanran and surrounding communities ahead of the 2027 elections.

The gathering was also described by supporters as another indication of the expanding grassroots network of individuals, community groups, market stakeholders and other interest groups identifying with the political aspirations of President Tinubu and Senator Sharafadeen Alli.

The visit equally provided an avenue for the community to interact with Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi on issues affecting grassroots communities, while strengthening the relationship between community stakeholders and political actors.

The engagement reaffirmed the increasing importance of grassroots consultation, dialogue and mobilisation in the evolving political landscape of Oyo State as preparations for 2027 continue.

From Akanran to the wider Oyo political space, the message from the Egede Community was clear: their voices, their choices and their participation will remain central to the political conversation ahead of 2027.
