2027: Tijaniyat Group Declares Support for Tinubu, Alli, Other APC Candidates, Visits Jubril Dotun Sanusi at Ilaji

The Islamic organisation made its position known in a letter dated September 19, 2026, addressed to the Okanlomo Oodua and Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi. The letter was formally received during a visit by the group to Chief Sanusi at Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Akanran, Ibadan.

The Tijaniyat group, operating across the South-West states of Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti and Lagos, described itself as an organisation committed to propagating the course of Islam and strengthening engagement within the region.

In the letter, the organisation stated its intention to support President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election and Senator Sharafadeen Alli in the Oyo State governorship contest, while also expressing support for other APC candidates seeking elective positions at the state and federal levels.

The group commended Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi for what it described as his activities and efforts in support of President Tinubu’s political ambition and expressed its readiness to collaborate with him.

It also expressed interest in leveraging Chief Sanusi’s platform to strengthen engagement with President Tinubu and to participate in discussions concerning developments surrounding the 2027 political process.

The delegation recalled its previous courtesy visit to Chief Sanusi and appreciated the warm reception extended to its members. It further announced plans to organise a special prayer session for the businessman and philanthropist, citing his philanthropic activities, generosity and wellbeing.

The letter concluded with prayers for Chief Sanusi’s continued success, prosperity and wellbeing.

Receiving the delegation at Ilaji Resort, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi appreciated the Tijaniyat leadership for the visit, prayers and expression of support. He also welcomed continued engagement and collaboration with religious and community stakeholders.

The visit forms part of the ongoing engagements between Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi and various religious, community and grassroots groups in Oyo State as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to develop.
