2027: Jubril Dotun Sanusi (JDS) Urges APC Unity, Delivers 100 Solar-Powered Streetlights to Ibadan South East
The Okanlomo Oodua and Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief (Engr.) Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has fulfilled his commitment to provide 100 solar-powered streetlights for communities across Ibadan South East Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The streetlights were delivered on Friday for onward distribution to communities within the local government, following a promise made by Sanusi during a recent courtesy visit by leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ibadan South East.
The APC delegation was led by Alhaji Mufutau Adisa Gbayawu and included Alhaji Wasiu Ajimobi, Hon. Akeem Olatunji, as well as the party’s federal and state representative candidates.
During the meeting, Sanusi welcomed the delegation and highlighted his ancestral ties to Ibadan South East.
“Your visit is welcome, as my lineage is from Ile Olugbade in Oja Oba, in Ibadan South East, where my traditional home belongs. So, by Friday, 100 solar-powered streetlights will be given to you for distribution across the local government area,” he said.
True to his commitment, the 100 solar-powered streetlights have now been delivered for distribution across communities in the local government.
The intervention forms part of Sanusi’s broader community-focused initiatives aimed at supporting grassroots development, improving public infrastructure and contributing to safer and better-lit communities.
Speaking on the political situation ahead of the 2027 general elections, Sanusi urged APC leaders, stakeholders and members in Ibadan South East and across Oyo State to prioritise unity, discipline, reconciliation and mutual respect.
He cautioned party members against actions that could create unnecessary divisions, particularly during the party’s primary processes.
Sanusi urged all stakeholders to support and work with whoever emerges through the party’s legitimate primary process, stressing that the collective interest of the APC should remain paramount.
He also called on APC members and supporters to mobilise behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, Hon. Remi Oseni and other party candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to him, personal differences should be set aside once candidates emerge so that members can work collectively toward the party’s objectives.
He further emphasised the importance of dialogue, unity and mutual respect in building a stronger political structure capable of promoting effective representation and grassroots development.
The delivery of the 100 solar-powered streetlights underscores Sanusi’s emphasis on translating commitments into tangible community interventions, particularly projects with direct relevance to residents’ daily lives.
